If you’ve ever used an online patient portal to message your doctor in the middle of the night, you won’t be surprised to learn that responding to those messages takes an increasingly big bite out of clinicians’ workdays. So in recent years, hospitals have begun adopting an AI tool that can draft responses for them. […]

I think most of you today see Crypto currencies as what they truly are : a scam. Roughly 4 years ago we took a stand and there was more of a discussion in the team at the time whether we should do that. I am proud of the stand we took then and even prouder today.

Currently Crypto companies are taking an active stand against Democracy, putting hundreds of millions into getting Crypto friendly politicians, adding that to the list of reasons why having anything to do with the technology is plain wrong.

🗨️ 👩🏽‍💻 The simple truth is that the era in which #research and #science (and #technology) are exploited by states and their militaries must come to an end!

Science serves #humanity first and foremost; it ought to adhere to a codex - much like that of #medicine - to serve and protect people (habitats), rather than to destroy them!

If research mandates were to abide by this principle, we would be one step closer to the goal of peaceful coexistence - in 2026, this is clearly not the case -

NHS Analysts Together (a of NHS data workers) is organising against the continued involvement of Palantir in the technology supporting NHS patient records.

Their objection is two fold:

Firstly the software is over-sold & not nearly as useful or reliable as presented;

Secondly, many NHS professionals do not want to be associated with Palantir itself for moral/political reasons (as noted in a post a few weeks ago).

"Artificially intelligent scribe software is part of a swarm of AI-powered tools coming to healthcare. Clinicians and patient-safety advocates say government regulations are not well constructed to guard against the threat that the new technology will miss or obscure important details of patients’ conditions, potentially harming them."

SeroTab — the electronics-free robotic capsule that glides through the stomach “like a penguin on its belly”.

The robot’s sensing system relies on a hydrogel that swells when exposed to stomach acid. Small markers embedded in the gel allow that swelling to be detected using a standard ultrasound scanner from outside the body.

Could SeroTab make unpleasant and painful endoscopies unnecessary?
