Of course the pedos who want #chatcontrol for us but not for them would call it "childlike" and "spicy mode".
You are the most disgusting and malicious part of the EU, clean your own front lawn and maybe call it what it is - deepfake childporn. Don't walk around the truth.
@muzicofiel
Fuck #chatcontrol and people should stop using these deplorable things like twitter... Problem solved!
Stop infringing on people's privacy because you need more "protection"
That's curiously complicated wording, when you can just say "child sexual abuse material" (c.f. #ChatControl).
Please, folks: just leave X, and as you do so, use the powers the Commission has to raze it to the ground.
❌ #ChatControl
❌ #AgeVerification
❌ #DigitalOmnibus
❌ #AI_Factories
- ditching #chatcontrol for good, along with all other ways of mass surveillance, like (european versions of) #Palantir.
- actually enforcing fines against #BigTech instead of halting it like von der Leyen did with #Google
- not selling our data to usa by #omnibus
- list goes on
Parents are responsible for their children's safety, not capitalist companies. So hands off my children!
#chatControl #EUcorruption #surveillance #privacy #humanRights #freedom
Except that isn’t! You are actively assisting big tech with this move.
Asking children and adults to identify themselves online isn't holding big tech companies responsible!
Verifying who everyone is with government ids is not a solution. It’s a massive data breach waiting to happen.
You are enabling much much more harm to children and everyone using the internet by pushing this narrative of verification.
#chatcontrol #idverification #privacy #eu
#chatcontrol #digitalomnibus and #ageverification directly conflict with the decentralized, privacy-respecting internet the fediverse represents. The fediverse thrives on:
Anonymous/pseudonymous participation
End-to-end encryption options
No centralized identity verification
User autonomy
You can't have both "your data, your control" and mandatory ID checks plus content scanning infrastructure.
Then stop Chat Control now, privacy is an inalienable right.
#ChatControl #StopChatControl #EU #EuropeanUnion #Privacy #ClientSideScanning
@PascalDrabik Maybe client side scanning of EU citizens' devices, something that is being pushed HARD by many EU nation states so that the European TLAs will know what every citizen is reading will encourage people to start reading properly curated, written-and-edited dead-tree publications.
No-one can work out what I read, or which part of an article attracts my attention, or which ad I look at when I am reading a print newspaper in the privacy of my own home.
OK, let's play the silly game of “would you think of the children”: What threats/weaknesses were identified? What options of tackling those were considered? And who is lobbying for this?
COI disclaimer: I am a “young European who uses social media” and I feel like DSA is needed for sovereignity and market regulation, not for “the children”, I never noticed the EU doing much in terms of mental health support or cyberbullying and I actively oppose #ChatControl and age verification (the last two points), as the current ideas are directly clashing with right to privacy.
Also, a thing that could protect “the children” would be GDPR, if data minimisation was actually enforced and platforms wouldn't just take collecting everything as their legitimate interest. #EC is directly responsible for enfocing those, right?
Please, stop appealing to emotions to push stuff. That helps noone.
er how about NOT having age verification? this is from the same people who proposed #chatControl which had the same "think of the kids!" excuse, while the authors of the proposal are not affected at all.
and besides, this is just a step forward to mass surveillance.
From the EU statement "Social media platforms offer highly addictive designs – infinite scrolling that is feeding the addiction, short videos snap attention span, highly personalised content, targeted. "
So fix the bloody platforms that harm our children first.
Making adults compensate for a lack of regulation by the EU of the digital market place by forcing them to constantly ID themselves is addressing the wrong set of issues.
