I know I wanted rain but it's been raining quite a bit. Thankfully, we have windows of opportunities to go out to the yard.
After I came home, Kengo stood up twice on his own. The first photo was of a totally unexpected moment as he had come out of the house through the garage on his own. It's not that he's recovering miraculously and we still need to get to the bottom of it. Tomorrow our vet will see him.

Spotlight On The Glacier

Late August, 20:20 in the evening, Höfn í Hornafirði in south-eastern Iceland. One strong sunbeam is striking the surface of Fláajökull glacier.

It had been a misty, cloudy day. We'd spent it at Jökulsárlón and had returned to our guest house for a meal.

As the sun began to set in the west-northwest, I carried my food outside and took a series of incredible photos until all colour left the sky at 21:25.

This is not what I wanted to report. But...apparently due to heavy compensation by his good Left leg for the Right leg that received surgery, Kengo's left ACL also appears to have been damaged. We had an early ER visit this morning. I will have to speak to our vet on Tuesday (after a holiday closure Monday) and decide the plan of care.
I'm overwhelmed and devastated but we will get through this. Please wish him good luck but limit your comment here as I am pretty exhausted...

went on another walk with my IR camera from my previous thread. Even managed to catch a few rays of sunlight in between the otherwise grey week.

It continuous to be a lot of fun and I slowly get the hang of focusing correctly! There are some image artifacts and out-of-focus regions at times, but that is okay with this 2011 camera.. :D

The resulting photos also just keep blowing my mind, this is sooo good! Also there are some interesting observations, the concrete in the third photo does not reflect much, if any IR, while the foliage does. This is also something you can feel in the summer, while streets are incredibly hot, trees and grass usually are pretty chill as they do not absorb a lot of IR!
