My #SilentSunday was a walk on the Trelde Spit situated where the Vejle Fjord reaches Little Belt.

Legend has it that during medieval times, this was a lawless area where a robber named Trolle, who called himself The King of the Spit, plundered both seafarers and travellers on land.

The large island in the distance is Denmark's third largest island, Funen, which is about the size of Mallorca in Spain, and birthplace to famous Danish author H. C. Andersen.

Spotlight On The Glacier

Late August, 20:20 in the evening, Höfn í Hornafirði in south-eastern Iceland. One strong sunbeam is striking the surface of Fláajökull glacier.

It had been a misty, cloudy day. We'd spent it at Jökulsárlón and had returned to our guest house for a meal.

As the sun began to set in the west-northwest, I carried my food outside and took a series of incredible photos until all colour left the sky at 21:25.

The royal greenhouses in Laeken are beautiful architecturally and the palm trees against the windows are gorgeous.

Western Gull

Animal portraits have become a favorite. This gull was hanging out on a picnic table at a nearby state park and was very patient. The droplets of water on its face remind me of how well these birds are adapted to surviving the harshest environments.
