Use, Robert Kennedy grabs two snakes and gets bitten on a finger. And the wife: “You’re out of your mind.”
U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has become a reptile wrangler and shared a video on X in which he grabs a pair of snakes attempting to mate with his bare hands. The incident, captured with the wife of Kennedy, actress Cheryl Hines, occurred in the patio of Mehmet Oz’s Florida home, head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. “Cheryl is rooting for the removal of a pair of black racers (non-venomous) snakes from Dr. Oz’s patio,” Kennedy wrote alongside the video.
In the footage, Hines repeatedly exclaims, “Bobby, why?” as Kennedy attempts to grab the two black snakes. “They were having sex. And then, what were they supposed to be?” asks a voiceover, after Kennedy manages to catch them, lifting the snakes towards the camera with a smile. At one point, one of the snakes appears to bite Kennedy’s finger. “Oh my God – the alarmed wife exclaims – you’re crazy.” “Are they biting?” is the question to Kennedy. “Yes,” he replied. “Honey, honey, let them go! Oh my God. Bobby, please!” adds Hines, as her husband smiles and brings the snakes closer to the camera.
The episode is one of several documented encounters with exotic animals that the seventy-two-year-old health secretary has had over the years. In 2012, daughter Kick told an interview that when she was a child, her father cut off the head of a whale that washed ashore in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.
