Anyone who thinks we merely need to get back to the rule of the Democratic Party of #Clinton, or even #Obama, is part of the problem. It's true that that would be better than the uninterrupted continuation of Trumpian fascism. But those Democrats paved the way for Trump. Clinton gave us #NAFTA and the obscene expansion of intellectual property law, among other things. Obama helped the private health insurance industry whittle down #SinglePayer first to the "public option", and then to the #ACA and its "marketplace". And the ever-increasing funneling of the nation's wealth to the #oligarchy continued unabated.

Is it any wonder that so many found fascism alluring, when its perceived only alternative was so useless? Radical change is not a luxury but a necessity; it is the only kind of change that has any chance of enduring — as opposed to setting the stage for the return of fascism.
Any action to make the Democratic Party truly useful will need to be of the nature of a hostile takeover. Its current leadership are in the service of the #oligarchy as much as the fascists are. #JackassParty
