As a fan of bees I appreciate the effort in raising awareness on #WorldBeeDay, so don’t get me wrong here.
That said, why does your post sound like a pleed to others when you are one of the most powerful multi-governmental organisations in the entire world?
While I support this initiative – who doesn't want less pesticides, cleaner waterways, more nature – #WorldBeeDay is about all the other bees, whose numbers are plummeting hand in hand with habitat loss. Honeybees don't need saving; that would be like saying we have to save the birds and we start with the chicken.

"The best way to help bees? Don’t become a beekeeper like I did - When I set up my honeybee hive, I had no idea I might be harming wild bee species. Now I’ve found better ways to encourage biodiversity"

When I set up my honeybee hive, I had no idea I might be harming wild bee species. Now I’ve found better ways to encourage biodiversity, says journalist and author Alison BenjaminAlison Benjamin (the Guardian)
Over 75% of the world’s food crops need pollinators.
Yet, bee populations have dropped globally over recent decades due to:
🔸 habitat loss
🔸 climate change
🔸 excessive use of pesticides
Our fertiliser plan promotes healthier ecosystems, which are essential for bees’ survival.
On this #WorldBeeDay, we urge governments, organisations and citizens to help save these precious creatures.
We need to keep our bees busy and well!
