Here is an idea: we could put a bunch of electric cars together, and make them bigger so they can carry more people, then so they don't run out of battery, we could have overhead wires for power. We could also run them on metal rails instead of asphalt with special protection systems to prevent crashes, and have them stop at specific places that are convenient for boarding and alighting...

Hello, Hannah!! It's great you're asking that question, I think listening already is a key step! In my experience, most people don't have an idea the effect the EU has in their life, they just ignore that better #parks, schools and hospitals are EU funded. The same applies to #libraries, #bikelanes or #trains ! 😉 🚂 The #EU also funds innovative businesses and supports #entrepreneurs !☺️

My understanding is one of the challenges with covering roadways with solar is that you also need the infrastructure to get the energy to where it needs to go. There may not be a sufficient connection to the grid to make use of that power.

But along electric train lines, you have lots of power feeding in so you have ways to get power out. This appears to be a pretty brilliant option:

OMG the vertical storage is great but FIRST: about changing #trains , @europeanspodcast have an episode on that, and it's also quite funny! Apparently we are all very frustrated with our #railway system in Europe! 🐾 I like #train travel because it's more #dogfriendly and, since listening to that episode, I'm tuned into the work of European Rail Passengers Union, which you can also find on #Mastodon!! : @erpu erpu.eu/
NOW, about #bikes : that looks great!! #doglife 💕 🚋 🌳
